Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Hired, we collect information you provide directly:

  • Account information (name, email address) via Google OAuth
  • Job opportunity data you enter (company names, positions, salaries, notes)
  • Position search queries and saved positions
  • CV/Resume files you upload
  • Job preferences, interview stories, and settings

If you use the email forwarding feature, we receive emails sent to your unique Hired email address. We process the sender, subject, date, and content to generate status update suggestions. Email content is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored.

2. CV/Resume Data

We handle your CV data with special care:

  • Purpose: Your CV is used solely to generate personalized interview preparation, resume optimization, and career advice within the Hired service.
  • Storage: CV files are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) before storage. The text extracted from your CV is stored in our database, protected by encryption at rest and row-level security.
  • No third-party sharing: Your CV is never shared with, sold to, or accessible by third parties. CV text is sent to Anthropic (Claude) for AI processing only — Anthropic does not retain or train on this data per their API terms.
  • Server-side only: Raw CV text is processed server-side and is never sent to your browser in API responses.
  • Deletion: You can delete your CV at any time from Settings. Deletion removes both the encrypted file and the extracted text immediately.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Hired service
  • To generate AI-powered interview prep, resume optimization, and career advice
  • To match positions based on your preferences and CV
  • To send service-related notifications

We do not use your data for advertising, sell your data to third parties, or use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • All data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest (AES-256)
  • Row-level security policies ensure you can only access your own data
  • CV files are additionally encrypted at application level (AES-256-GCM)
  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS
  • Authentication is provided by Clerk
  • API endpoints are protected by rate limiting

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Hired. Your CV content is only shared with Anthropic for AI processing:

  • Clerk — Authentication and user management
  • Supabase — Database and file storage
  • Stripe — Payment processing (no access to CV data)
  • Vercel — Hosting and deployment
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI features (CV text sent for processing; not retained by Anthropic)
  • Tavily — Web search for interview prep (no access to CV data)
  • Cloudflare — Email routing (no access to CV data)

6. Data Retention & Deletion

  • You can delete individual items (opportunities, CV, stories, etc.) at any time from within the app.
  • You can delete your entire account from Settings > Delete Account. This immediately removes all your data including CV files, database records, and your Clerk account.
  • Security audit logs related to your account are retained for up to 90 days after deletion for fraud prevention.
  • Database backups containing deleted data are automatically rotated within 7 days.

7. Your Rights (GDPR / Data Protection)

If you are located in the EU/EEA or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access: View all data we hold about you (available in Settings).
  • Rectification: Update your data at any time through the app.
  • Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Delete your account and all associated data from Settings.
  • Data Portability: Request an export of your data by contacting us at the email below.
  • Restriction / Objection: Contact us to restrict or object to specific processing.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the service or email.
